Øyvind Sørfjordmo and Mikael Jacobsson are two Norwegian painters based in Berlin, having their background from Art Academy in Trondheim, Norway.
Since 2014 they have been occupied with a new series of paintings which will be presented in Atelierhof Kreuzberg, 23.10.2015, 19:00 H.
Their constant experimenting with strange substances was the foundation upon sculptural investigations, which also gave the feeling of alchemy. It produced new materials and understandings within the three-dimensional field. The test-and-fail principal gave birth to numerous sculptures. They functioned as individuals with their own personas within their own imaginary world.
C: “The cracks follow the direction of the network of stoppages, it’s astonishing all the same. D: Exactly, and in the same sense. It constitutes a symmetry, which seems voluntary; but that wasn’t the case at all. C: When one sees the “Large Glass”, one doesn’t imagine it intact at all. D: No. It’s a lot better with the breaks, a hundred times better. It’s the destiny of things.” Dialogues With Marcel Duchamp, Pierre Cabanne, 1987 by Da Capo Press (first published January 1st 1971).
Still they all had the same strangely funny appearance with all these strange substances.
